Signed a letter of intent February 1. Prior to committing to Colorado State, Macon was receiving interest from Wyoming, Boise State, and Utah State.

Despite being a two-sport star (he also plays basketball) Macon has been a relative unknown during the recruiting process, but created interest for himself after sending highlight tapes to programs across the country. He committed to CSU following an official visit December 10-11. He was recently named first-team all-state as a linebacker and second-team all-state as a tight end. He project as an H-back in CSU's system.
